I am back.. But this time with a broken heart :(
So MI was on bang with 5 consecutive wins and they went on to win 6 th game.. things were looking fine, they were looking like the team to conquer first ever IPL trophy but sometimes some players get better of others, sometimes luck plays there role and things are not necessarily same as they look...
Let's go back to Match against KXIP.. MI was sloppy in fieliding.. Uthappa dropped Shaun Marsh.. and a batsmen of calibre of Marsh won't leave you if you miss the golden opportunity and he went on hitting all around. Pomersbach and others helped him to make an score of 188 or 189 runs. MI started brilliantly and Sachin played an important inning, Mumbai looked like winning but then a series of Run outs took place and KXIP won a last ball thriller.
Now Mumbai has to play Delhi a win means MI and CSK in semis. MI were asked to bat first and they made 170 runs (appx).. and then bowlers did excellent work of restricting Delhi top order. MI looked like winning but then series of misfieldings lead Delhi back towards victory and Dinesh Karthik was at his best. MI lost second consecutive and it was a close 1 too.
Now a win against RR was must or else We have to depend on result of Match between CSK and DC, which CSK shall win based on their form. Shane Warne won the toss and elected to field first. Wicket was slow. Sachin and Jayasuriya stayed on ground for quite some time but the run rate was low. Then Sohail Tanvir took plenty of wickets and made his way towards highest purple cap. MI set an target of 146, courtesy last over heroics of Takawale. The score was competitive enough for this pitch and MI again destroyed top order. It looked like MI is about to win. RR needed 43 runs of last three over. Then it went down to 15 runs from last over. Fernando was bowling last over.. 1 ball.. sixer!!.. second ball.. No ball.. and finally it came down to 3 runs from last ball. Fernando bowled wide (how could you do that at such a stage X-( ).. now RR needs 2 runs from 1 ball to win.. 1 for score up. Fernando bowls last ball, he has chance to field but couldn't reach to ball, Smith throws and Jayasuriya has chance to run out Jadeja and win a bowl out but he fails to collect ball X-( and Mumbai loses three in a row. Another close 1. And yeah, both youngsters Jadeja and Patel played brilliantly under pressure, hates off to them :)
Three close competitions and loss in all.. what a team.. whom to blame ? Captain? Players? Luck? who ?
Anyways.. there fate is now in hands of CSK...
Another thing about Mumbaikars.. Players from other teams has complained that Indian national players who are playing for other teams are booeeed in Mumbai.. is it a good thing ? is IPL above country?
you might've seen Yuvi going angry during celebrations as well..
Nyways.. Mumbai is losing matches, its less like other team is winning.. they shall not make to semis..
